If you have a square end shovel it will be easier to lift your tiles. The baseboard heater needs to be turned off and the breaker thrown so you do not get a shock. Disconnect the wires and screws by lifting off the front piece and it should come loose. If it has been painted around it and is sticking, take a utility knife to loosen the inside edges near the wall so it will come off easier.

Hammer and putty knife/chisel to remove the tile. If heater is electric turn power off. remove the screws holding it to the wall. Measure and slide the bead board behind it. If water/steam just remove the screws holding it to the wall and slide the bead board behind it. Then just screw it back on. No need to remove the whole unit.
I removed tile by breaking it up with a hammer and then I had a screwdriver that I would pry it up with. Please wear goggles and gloves. Tile can be very sharp---sadly I found out the hard way. I'm unfamiliar with removing a base heater.
