Is it ok to keep them inside?
Where do you live Vurna? What zone are you in?
Ah, one of my favorite places! Beautiful country and people are so darn nice! Yes, bring them in and water sparingly. Betty provided a bunch of helpful sites, they will be just fine. Happy holidays! 🎄☃️🍭
Hi yes you can bring some in for the winter. .dig the roots and put in pot with soil. .I keep some in window then put back in ground in spring. .the ones in ground multiple better than in the pots. .Merry Christmas. .
Hi Vurna! I have a nephew who lives in Kentucky! Lovely state. Here you go with some help with your question.
They will survive the winter on their own. I live in Ohio and do nothing to protect them.
They perk up; become greener and start having baby chicks come warm spring weather.
Michigan here. They are planted in the ground and come back every year beautifully!
They'll be fine outside might need to put pot close to house if you get major ground freeze. What part of Kentucky are you in? I live in AZ my sister in OH but we have 400 acres in Stanton Ky area, next to Daniel Boone National forest. It is so beautiful in KY.
Thanks everyone. Live in Harrodsburg, Ky. Mine are in a pot. Just got them put in it this summer. Will bring them in for winter. Thanks again.
In zone 6, you can mulch with 3-4" hardbark mulch and leave planted in the ground. If you're concerned they won't survive a colder period, place pine boughs over the tops.
