My walls are 9 ft. tall, and I desperately need to store more things
in my closet (including large empty boxes) . Does anyone have any

First I would spring clean.....hang on to what you want and goodwill to the NOT Wanters......it helps alot.
I recently put in a second shelf above the one normally found in most closets. Doubled my space for things seldom used.
My closets are stuffed to the ceiling, but I only have 8' ceilings. Empty boxes? I have a lifetime shoe, purse and accessory collection. You can't get a cracker in my closets.
Place items vertically, rather than horizontally, to consume more vertical space.
