How do you paint clay pots?

Hi Susn I cleaned my with white vinegar first. .let dry. .spray with a clear sealing. .let dry. .I bought Rustolem 2x the coverage. .it worked great. .after I painted the color I wanted I spray the sealing again last. .I tape off top spray bottom blue. .let dry .tape off blue painted top white. . I did about five pots different colors. .I have them on a screen porch. .my neighbor thought I had bought them new. .Merry Christmas .
