How can my Whirlpool washer door be repaired?

We have a 3-4 year old whirlpool Cabrio Model wtw7800xw3. The top loading door is broken on the left side while looking at it. See photo . It appears to be a separate piece of plastic that holds the see thru glass in the door. Can this be repaired or will I need a whole door assembly ?

You can try a two part epoxy glue. Some plastics can not be repaired or glued. Depends on the composition.

Call Whirlpool customer service or go online to their site and see if they have that piece to repair it, or if it will need a whole assembly. I have had the Cabrio washing machine since they started them and just love them, I now have both the washer and dryer. I wouldn't change them for the world, even though hubby likes Samsung brand everything, I wouldn't budge when it came to my washer and dryer.

I have a Samsung kitchen other than my microwave and toaster oven, so far so good, but hubby is stuck on Samsung for everything (I do have LG for my phone and won't do Samsung) and I relented, but never on my laundry appliances. I have had whirlpool washers for over twenty years and he had to repent on that one!

I would start by looking up the brand name on internet & go to their parts replacement page for pricing/order

Since you have the model number of your washer, contact the parts department of the manufacturer and have them assist you. Many times you can find a parts schematic online.

Go to ereplacementparts.com. They have a huge inventory. I have been buying from them for years and have always been able to get what I needed. You just need your model number. An exploded diagram will come up and you find your part on it.

If you're as cheap (read that as "broke") as I am, you'd find a way to repair it. I'd suggest epoxy as others have, but I'd also take a sliver of pipe strapping or other thin metal and put that on as a splint before or during the epoxy job. Even a popsicle stick would offer some support if used with epoxy.

Go to www.partsking.cliom. they are very nice & helpful. I was able to get replacement drum bushings that "no one" else had, not even manufacturer nor Sears nor local service shops. Wishing you best of luck.

If this place doesn't have it & can't direct you to one who does, try looking at salvage laundry machine places for a used part.
