Desiree: Here are a few inexpensive ideas -- that will boost the appeal, but not break the bank:

New towels -- fresh fluffy, co-ordinated!

A new shower curtain that goes with the towels!

Get rid of clutter on the counter-tops! (Maybe put it all into a lidded basket.)

Paint the walls and get some inexpensive artwork at Kirklands or Marshalls.

    Have fun!

Upgrades can go from a few dollars to thousands of dollars. Establish you budget to avoid cost creep.

How much is your budget? Do you want to freshen it up with color or replace fixtures etc? New cabinet knobs, a fresh color on the walls, new towels, new shower curtain all go a huge distance without a lot of money. Buy some fun new shower curtain hooks. Add a new shower matt or throw rug. Or go big with color and chalk paint your cabinet.

We refreshed a small 1958 bathroom with chalk paint/wax on the existing cabinet- took off the cupboard doors under the counter (not sink) and painted inside to create a place for the towels for easy access, changed the hardware, updated the light fixture and raised the shower curtain rod to 94" and hung a liner and curtain and added a frame to the existing the mirror. Everyone loves the changes! The room feels so much bigger! Good luck!

I spent a small amount on a refresh for mine a few years ago. I painted the cabinets, removed the cabinet doors of some old wall cabinets for open shelving storage, painted the walls, hung a new shower curtain, changed out some hardware and it was great for us!

The best way to get a big bang for your buck is with paint. Another inexpensive change is with floor tile. We just installed peel-and-stick tiles over old tile and our total cost was less than $40. A rug, art and new towels will also go a long way.
