How to Upholster a Coffee Table

I was so excited when I first saw this coffee, table that I had to have it. It had a perfect size and shape, plus it was affordable enough to re-finish and upholster.
I think the hardest part about this DIY, was to stay out of my comfort zone, which is neutral colors. I really wanted to make something bright and colorful. So, I spent almost 2hours of my Saturday afternoon at Joann's picking some fabric for this project, what a headache! But, I am glad I found some outdoor fabric at the end, that was not only bold and durable, it was also over 50% on sale (score...)

This table was super fun to work with, it was originally made by Gordon's Inc. in Johnson City, Tennessee

I marked each top with eight holes, where I later attached the buttons through.

The foam it attached with spay glue and batting is giving the edges a smooth feel.

This is just what I was looking for!

This is great, not just because it looks good, but because people will put their feet up on the coffee table, and these cushioned seats look inviting for that purpose. With a tray on hand to have a solid flat surface for beverages and such, I'd be all set to have a lovely useful piece.
