How do I make a 45 cm stone wall for a garden bed?

I'm looking at erecting a stone wall to create a 45cm high garden bed.Do I need a concrete footing?

Not necessarily. If used to sit on or as a retaining wall, I would certainly consider a below grade footing. Let me find you an example or two.

I think it would be wise. Reason being you can use a masonry bit to drill your base rocks and stick em on rebar that you can poke into the wet foundation of concrete. Remember to add 1/4 gaps for water drainage, Just like your home.
