I never used or really liked these standing photo clips (or whatever they’re called). In fact I was on the verge of giving them away when this idea moved into a vacancy. The flags are made of used tissue paper.

Fold a straight edge over about 2”. Flatten and crease the fold, then cut it off along the edge (not on the fold) so that you will have a double strip,

It should be double thickness with the fold still uncut. Now cut the strip into 1.5” rectangles

Fold each rectangle in half with the fold against the fold and cut edges lined up with cut edges. Starting at least half an inch from the fold, cut away the corners to form flags.

The fold will be at the top of the flag so it can be folded over a cord.

Flatten the folded double flags and use a magic marker to write the letters on the flags.

Measure the cord to the proper length for the flags, clip the cord and photos together in the clips. Fold the flags over the cord and touch a glue stick to one tip of each flag and press the tips together. Now I LOVE the way they look. They just never made a statement before.

Suggested materials:
  • Two photo clips, tissue paper, black cord, magic marker   (It was all laying around the house.)
  • Photos   (Had them.)
