How can I remove or cover a popcorn ceiling?

    One suggestion, and probably the cheapest and quickest, is to put in a drop ceiling. It is a grid with ceiling tiles that can cover up just about any existing ceiling.

    You can find these at DIY stores.

    We are covering ours with that vintage look metal tiles. We are putting furring strips to attach it to so we don't have to take down the popcorn. You can remove the popcorn, but it usually hides flaws in the ceiling, so you really may not know what is under there. And it is incredibly messy.

    I will do that. Someone said if your home was built before 1978 it needs to be tested. I guess I need to google that too. Lol
