How should I finish my desk top?

I've cleaned my light colored pine desk and applied several coats of Old English polish. I'm thinking of finishing it with Danish oil but don't know if something else would be better. I'd love some ideas and suggestions.

We love tung oil and have used it a few times.

Tung oil is good, I also have used it many times in the past.
my go to for real wood is Howard's Feed and Wax ... available at most good home improvement stores and on line
You will need to clean all of the polish off first before you do anything. Once you have it clean, wipe down with a paint thinner or solvent to remove any residue and then try your Danish oil. My preference, for durability , would be to stain and then put on at least 2-3 coats of varnish or varathane.
