Daughter said to remove paint from bricks. I say leave it!

Just refresh the paint color. The house is glorious and reminds me of a chateau somewhere in the European countryside.

Federal style homes were meant to have painted brick. Quite often the brick they used had a lower quality to it.. It would flake apart if it were not coated with paint. I would not recommend trying to remove the paint.. EVER.. You could possibly have a huge problem on your hands if you try to take it off.
