i bought a door it 1/4 inch to wide will they trim it
If it is wood it can be trimmed quite easily. The store where you bought it should be able to fix it for you.
Most doors are standard sizes to fit the jamb. Make sure you double and triple check the door opening measurement. Top, center and bottom. They should be able to cut it for you with no pro0blem. They will probably need to take off 1/8" of each side to make the door uniform.
The new door could have swollen slightly from damp may be. Most doors are standard so maybe a hand planer to remove a thin layer.
decide which end you want to remove material from and trim it off using a table saw. It would be easier to remove material from the hinge side, so you don't have to re-cut the door handle and lock.
If the door is solid wood, it can be trimmed and sanded to make it fit, but if it is a hollow door, you might need to take it back and exchange it for a smaller one. Cut from the hinge side to prevent messing up the alignment of the door knob holes etc. Hope this helps.
