The Cabinet is peeling on the outside and the inside looks the same with exposed wood

We painted ours. First sanded it very well so the surface was nice and smooth. Primed and painted. That was over 10 years ago. Take a little extra time to tape it off very well so you don't get paint in places you don't want it. Plan on changing the color and repainting within the next year.

sounds like it is laminate and not wood if it is peeling inside and out - here are some ideas

Peeling laminate off cabinets and painting underneath. Who knew you ...

Use a sanding glove or a sander Thant can reach into corners and along the edges. Sand the cabinet inside and out, removing the peeling paper or laminated covering. Then you could try to stain or certainly paint the medicine cabinet. If there is some detail, then gray weathering would look nice. And if the front is flat, you can glue in a plaster, wood, resin or other purchased detail from a hardware or hobby store. And that can be antiqued also. Best wishes! 🤶🏻

Shirley,. You have peeling because the cabinet was not painted layng flat. Sand the cabinet, then vacuum up the dust, and wipe with a damp rag. Let dry completely. Then paint, one part at a time. Aloha!
