Wet the stain/crud. Sprinkle on a layer of 20 Mule-Team Borax (or any brand). Let set a minute, then scrub with a plastic scrubber. Most will come off easily. Rinse, and resprinkle any stubborn areas. Wait a minute, then scrub again. The thicker the burned on stuff, the more times you need to reapply the borax, but even a quarter inch of burned on BBQ sauce usually only takes two tries. It's the sugar that makes it burn on so thick, both from the tomato and sweet ingredients.
put a dryer sheet in the pan. Fill the pan with water, soak for 24 hours. It should be completely clean. Just wash with regular dish soap and rinse.
Oven cleaner, I do this outside, rinse well.
