How do I refinish a dark stained coffee table to a light beachy look?

    You have to completely strip then apply white stain. Then finish with an aquathane.

    If you want the beachy grained look, there are two options - both of which are listed above. You can strip, sand and restain with the colors you want and then seal. Or, you can sand, do a wet-blend or dry-brush beachy texture (darks & lights) and then seal. The look will be different. It just depends on your preference, time you want to invest and your skills & available tools. Have a blast!
