I had a house keeping business for 16 yrs. I used Mr. Clean lemon scented. VERY HOT WATER AND A WELL WRUNG MOP! Over wetting the floor causes problems. If it seems too wet once done use a towel and walk it around to dry! Most of the fancy cleaners don't take care of pets, bacteria or kids! Vinegar smells aweful! Pinesol is a waste of money! No good properties at all. Soap leaves a film.

I used an O Cedar mop head that could be removed and washed. The bucket i got at Walmart, it's red and has a snap on top piece so you can ring out the mop. For 16 yrs I cleaned this ladies floor like this...never an issue. If wear and tear removes the top coat there are floor treatments to use. Bonna makes a nice one, not too glossy.

  • HI Barbara, when we had our hardwoods refinished, the refinisher told us to just use warm water and vinegar. It's been six years, and it works like a charm. Good luck!
