How can I remove a big red stain from a white carpet?

Someone spilled a red soft drink on the white carpet and it was not noticed for several days. I've tried regular carpet cleaners and it is lighter but not gone. Suggestions?

  • We like Capture, a spray on stain remover that we bought at Lowes. You spray it on and leave it and it takes out the stain. Good luck!

Put down a white towel over the stain then press a steam iron on the towel. The stain will lift into the towel. Keep using clean areas of the towel until the stain is gone.

Get a carpet cleaner called Folex!!!!!! I bought it at home depot for about $6.

This stuff is GREAT !!! It gets out everything , rust, grease , ink , red wine , blood , just spray it on , rub in with your fingers , blot with paper towel . You can also use it in a carpet cleaning machine. I keep some in a spray bottle in my laundry room .

    Good luck !!!

Club soda should work. Spray it on , let it set, blot with a white towel.

We have used "Awesome"brand cleaner from the 99 cent store with great results on white carpet stains. We sprayed it directly on the stains and worked it in. Then sucked it up with a home carpet cleaner , then rinsed and sucked up all the excess water. Towel blotted to remove more moisture.

We let it dry completly before it is walked on and it came out perfect. No yellowing of the white carpet. No stain.

I hope it works for you as well.
