Recycling Greeting Cards
When you recieve a nice greeting card, it's opened and read and then what do you do with it? Toss it after a day or two? Yes, that's the life of the card just one or two days maybe a week if it's really special. I love the artwork on some of them, the glossy cardstock or glitter on others so I tried to find ways to recycle them.
The first idea I came up with uses a small portion of the card front, whatever you can salvage to fold in half or cut out a simple shape from. Here are some examples below of what I've cut out previously with scissors and punched holes into them for gift tags.
They are perfect to add to a wrapped gift, a bag or a gift basket by attaching them with pretty curly ribbons, jute string or just wool.
Another idea is to frame your greeting cards as artwork, this would be especially nice for those cherished cards. Some artists print cards of their original artwork so you might even end up with a true artist's work.
This same idea can even apply to postcards, if they are from a special friend or a beautiful place you'd like to display in a picture frame.

I remember my grandmother would fill albums FULL with christmas card cutouts and then donated them to area convalescent hospitals. I betcha those deployed would appreciate this as well. Great idea!
