I re-use the empty wrapping paper tubes, or empty paper towel, or toilet paper tubes. I cut down the length of the tube. Then I overlap the empty tube on the wrapping paper roll. It keeps the wrapping paper in place. If you find the empty wrapping paper tube is too long, then cut into smaller lengths. I don’t cut the empty paper towel and/or the empty toilet paper tubes, as I find them to be the perfect size.

I use a piece of tape. Rubber bands will leave compression marks. Why waste plastic food wrap.
