When did our popcorn ceiling, we sprayed it with water and then gently scraped it all off. It can make a mess, but we learned from the pro's who had done it before. We taped thin plastic drop cloths to the top edge of the wall next to the ceiling, then we put more on the floor. When it was time to clean up we just wrapped it all together. It made it easy to clean up the mess. Click below to see how someone else did it. Wishing you the best.
I have popcorn ceilings where I live and hTeythem, cannot get rid of it because they painted oil paint on every ceiling back in the day which wasn’t very bright because all’s tgey do is hold dirt and dust which drives me crazy because it continually falls all over your furniture as well making it very difficult to keep a clean home. Very very frustrating! If it is not pained in oil it can be scraped off with a scraper but it takes a lot of elbow grease to do it so you’d better have very strong hands indeed! Good luck to you
I'd suggest that you look into ceiling tiles. Another options would be to put dry wall over the ceiling to cover up the popcorn part. That's what a lot of other people do to fix your kind of problem. I hope this gives you some ideas. Wishing you the best.
