My daughter wanted a yoga mat holder for Christmas. I watched a ridiculous video and thought....this is easy. And it was. This was a cheap, easy and fun project.

I went to Lowes and had them cut a 1x6 6ft in half for me. I sanded the edges and layer down some parchment paper on my counter (had to protect it in case I made a mess. I glued the two pieces together and let set overnight. (I used L brackets also). It certainly didn’t need to sit overnight, but I had so many things going at once.

I put 3 hangers on the back. I also used plant hooks (Lowes indoor plant area). I had to get 5/8” screws. The ones that came with the hooks were way too long.

I decided to dig out my wood burner and play a little. I may have gotten a little carried away. I used carbon paper and pencil for design that I printed off.

These are the L brackets I used to secure the boards. The wood glue is awesome though.

and more burning. Haha

Don’t judge...THIS is where she wanted it hung. I asked her if she wanted any stain on it..she said no. So it just got a light clear coat of varnish.

I loved yours so much I made my own. I used mirror plates to hang the shelf and put the hanging basket brackets on the outside as they were too thick to put behind. Painted with garden wood paint and stencilled with acrylic paint.
