Stove-top Cover
We created a cover for our glass-top stove, using lath and plywood. We got so many likes that we are now making them to order!
Allow for the lip
Cut the base board to size, and then nail the lath strips to cover it. We chose to cut the lath into shorter strips to add to the character of the finished product.
Sand it all down.
Add handles and stain.
....and custom calligraphy...
....using a white chalk-paint marker....
.... which, I discovered, can be wiped off and reapplied if errors are made....
Apply a spray varnish to seal it. Several coats.
And the final product!

The measurements are custom to your stove top. In the second-to-last picture, you can see that the bottom board fits down into the recessed area of the stove top. The top piece is larger, and sits over the gap between the stove and the countertop.
