Would be cheaper to buy one from the Salvation Army.

Hi Helen! That sounds like a great idea. Perhaps these ideas will help you! Good luck and Happy New Year Helen! (About 10 years ago I purchased 2 old and outdated lamps that had an old cherub design. I liked the way they blended the cherub with flowers etc., but I did not like the idea of having them as lamps in my living room. My sister and I decided to prime them and then paint them gold. I then went to a salvage place and was lucky to find a couple of round glass pieces and secured them to the base of the old lamp with the help of my brother-in-law. They looked wonderful once they were all done!) Perhaps you could find glass tops too, but you would have to keep watching, and I am not sure you want to wait that long. I know when I am ready to make something I want to do it quickly. You might ask a glass place for some ideas on where to find some tops for your table at cost, etc. I wish you the very best luck!
