How can I paint my dinette set?

I have a dinette set that I would like to paint white and possibly keep the table top wood tone or possibly grey. Same with the chairs - I would like to have them two-tone. The table has 2 extensions that pull out to make the table larger. I'm open to any other suggestions too : )
Your set is gorgeous!! I agree with leaving the top wood and maybe just painting the base of the table white. I think it would look gorgeous! You could leave the chat seats wood tone and paint the rest to match the table base.
I might recommend leaving the tone part wood for functional reasons... if you use the table a lot, there's always a chance of scratching up a painted surface while the plain wood will be more resilient. Plus the two-tone look is popular these days!
I'm guessing you want to match the colors in your kitchen. Your thoughts are all good. Depending on your family dynamics (kids, pets, traffic) you need to consider whether white or a light gray base would be a more practical idea. (I DO like the white, but it would be constantly dirty in my house.) It would really be fun to play with the chair backs in a two-tone concept. (rungs one color, rails the contrast color) Whatever you do, don't forget to seal the top with a good poly that will resist wear and tear and keep your project beautiful for years to come.
Looks like you have a country French large Parque table with slide out leaves. I’d be guessing, by the picture, it looks at least 60/70 years old. If in good condition without any peeling veneer, could be worth some good dollars. If the country French is just not your style, it would probably be better to try to sell it on consignment. painting the table to match your scheme will not change the fact that his country French. Painting it will just reduce its value. Go get a table that you really love.
Hello, I agree with Chris, sell the table for its full value and use the money to buy the table you love!
If you're going to paint, be sure to prime or shellac the wood before painting. This will prevent the tannins in the wood from bleeding through.
Yeah thats a table i wouldnt paint.I would sell it before i destroy such a beautiful looking table.And i havent seen one of those in many moons.Good luck and Happy New Year!
Please. please, please DO NOT PAINT! That table is gorgeous. Clean it up with a good wood restoration cleaner.
