How can I get more light over my kitchen sink?
My 1970's home has a decent sized kitchen but there is no window or lighting above the sink. Only one ceiling fan light in the middle of the room. I have tried stick on lights but they are not bright enough. I need something that doesn't require wiring or hiring. Maybe a mirror? Any thoughts will help. Thanks.

Any outlets near the sink? I have seen plenty of ideas with macrame or fabric to decorate the wire...just plug in and drape the light up and over a nice hook or decorative shelf bracket. Could also use a string of Christmas lights or other string/strip lights above or under cabinets...also just plug into a nearby outlet. Add an extension cord if necessary to start the lights up at cabinet height.
Do you have a receptacle nearby? Google "hanging light with long plug in cord". You can plug one in and add a hook above the sing to hang. They make cord covers that make the cord look like a straight piece of trim. (the cords hidden under the cover to make it neat.)
If that looks lopsided add another piece of trim to the other side to make it look intentional and balance the look.
Thank you both. I will Google and check out the string light options. I do have an outlet available.
