Original Art on Homemade Chalk Painted and Glazed Nightstands

Found these treasures on a half-off day at the Salvation Army Thrift Store for $35/pair. Decided to try the DIY Chalk paint recipe and painted, glazed and then hand painted two original pieces of art on the top of each.
Then added hand-written script excerpts from a French Love Poem to the drawer fronts.
Before. They were more beat up than it appears here.
I then coated with a satin-finish top coat for protection and durability.
Final step was updating the brass hardware with some silver spray paint and black glaze for an aged patina.
Total finished cost - $50. Who says art has to be on the walls?
