I wouldn't do it. Won't hold up to daily use. Rustoleum, Daich, or Giani countertop paint kits.

  • Hi Gwyn,

I would also not recommend chalk paint. However here is a tutorial that uses a latex satin or semi gloss paint.

Yes, do not chalk paint any high use area. I chalk painted a guest bed and it has chips all over it, and it is definitely not a high use area! And, I coughed up the $$$ for Annie Sloan brand. Very disappointed. Those counter top kits the others recommended get great reviews.

It is super easy to paint with Dixie Belle.

Step one: Clean with White Lightning

Step two: Apply two coats of Slick Stick

Step three: Paint one to two coats of Dixie Belle Chalk Mineral Paint

Step four: Use Gator Hide for a water-repellent finish

    No sanding required!
