I am in zone 9 and the bees LOVE pineapple sage when in bloom, I always plant 3 just for the bees, bee balm, lemon balm, garlic, onions and chives - I let some plants "go to seed" just for the bees and hummingbirds.

I have huge Bee,Butterfly,Moth,Ant & Hummingbird garden & the bees love the Yellow Cosmos,White Cosmos,Zinnias,Balsam,Sweet Marjoram,any varieties of Sunflowers but the perennial ones are best. Any plants that produce a lot of pollen & have open centers so pollinators can easily get to pollen. Google where you live and natural plants/flowers/trees that are pollinator friendly. I live in Az & one tree they love is the Palo Verde, also the seeds of the Mexican Fan Palms. Everyone wants to remove the seed fronds from the Palms but I leave mine on for them they are sweet & sticky. I use Praying Mantis egg cases, live Lady Bugs and Nematodes for pest control so the pollinators are safe.

Depending on how many bees/ pollinators you want. Local beekeepers are always trying to find new places for a couple hives. They do all the work, and you get some bees .

Hello Catriona, I live in Perthshire (Scotland) and have a wonderful plant that definitely attracts bees - lots of them (big and small) - its called Penstmon - there are various beautiful colours available from a garden centre or on line - hope this handy hint helps you. I Google'd for information on plants for bees and there are quite a lot to choose from. Bees are absolutely wonderful for loads of reasons and it's lovely to see them all in and around my Penstmon plant. Very best wishes for 2019. Marilyn

Ageratum, blue Butterfly Bush, Penstemon, Pentas, Lavender, Thyme, Rosemary, Phlox, Cosmos, Dahlias, Plumeria, Plumbago, Coreopsis, Lantana, and any other blue flowers or shrubs are highly attractive to bees.

Avoid any product with Imidicloprid, unless applied very early morning or several hours after sunset.
