Outside leading to your home? Or inside your home?
Ramps are usually built much longer than stairs so that they are safe. A steep ramp can be more dangerous than stairs.
If it's inside, you will have to get one of the lifts installed. Outside is bulky, but easy.
If you need to modify a longer staircase, local codes will dictate slope/length of ramps. Check first with your local officials.
