How do I decorate a plain high wall?
I have a very plain high wall that needs detail. It runs from the floor in the den to the vaulted ceiling - the height of the 2nd floor. The length of the wall is approximately 18 feet long. I need ideas for a focus point or area of this wall. Pictures would be helpful.

Think of something large that works with your decor that can be hung. Large decorative iron piece like a gate or door, a Kimono, a quilt, an archetectual element maybe. The worse thing you can do is add a lot of small things to fill up the space and just look cluttered.

An art display can be easily and economically achieved.
What is your area or colors of interest? I have been very lucky to have found some of the best origional signed art at estate sales, consignment shops and thrift stores. Quite often to you can buy a framed piece for the glass, frame and mat and remove the art that doesnt impress you- put something new in it.
Framing and moreso custom framing is very expensive.
