You could paint it an accent color.

  • Perhaps you could hang a set of textile wall hangings vertically? Perhaps weavings in neutral colors or macrame.... that way the textiles would follow the curve of the wall.

Washi tape a design on it. Wallpaper. Metal art that you could bend to lay flat on the wall. Depending on what is on the other side you could do built in shelf.

I think painting it using a stencil would look nice.

A lightweight tapestry or beautiful fabric hanging, silk. Perhaps a large macrame piece... or a weaving...long and narrow in design...could be colorful or neutral with beautiful texture!

How about four narrow/tall frames with artwork...one above the other :)

I'd leave it as is - it's a beautiful accent element!

Paint it an accent color. A collection of small picture frames with colorful family pictures. Small art pieces that together create a story, such as collections from different locations visited, etc.

A round wall is rare and spectacular just as it is. Viewing it daily you probably don't see it any more. If you decide to add an element perhaps a stencil that will showcase it's roundness like winding vines and leaves. Or just make it a different color so it gets the attention it deserves..

Oh for me, I’d have to try out one of these amazing Stack-stone wall papers, in gray, brown, black and beige tones. In the opening window, a must have would be a Simple round, strapped metal chandelier, battery operated, on a timer with optional remote settings... (Luminara candle with moving wick- my batteries last 3-12 months)... and sprigs of greenery, wreathed around the inside, pulled to spill out between the metal strapping. Now I can sit and daydream!

You could paint vertical stripes of no more than 3 colors in various widths, to draw the eye upward, or paint a stenciled design, of transitional styling, to serve as an accent wall.

Trying to hang anything that is flat backed on this wall will be very difficult due to the curve. Tapestries might work providing they were suspended from a curved rod, but finding effective and discrete mounting hardware may be problematic. Tapestries are also more of a traditional decor item, rather than transitional.

This could be beautiful space, but at the present time, the curved wall appears somewhat like a monolith. As there is no colour, texture, or depth, it feels like it is projecting outwards into the room, rather than being an integrated part of the architecture.

My suggestion is to have a wall mural with visual interest, one that draws the eye inward, giving depth, and connecting it more with the the second area above. Here are some examples of 3D wall murals; there are hundreds to choose from, available on eBay.

If you use a tapestry it will cut the space in half and you lose the awesomeness of this unique feature. Likewise if you paint it to try to define it. If you feel it needs "something" why not custom build a table which follows the curve of the wall and use it to hold a floral arrangement with some narrow candelabras on the wall. I also love the idea of greenery spilling out of the window above or perhaps a stained glass there. These would be easily changeable as time passes .

Hi. Because this is a contemporary style and you have an opening on both sides adding things will make it too busy. I suggest, if you want to bring attention to the roundness of this part of your house, to paint it one shade darker than the surrounding wall. That will add interest without screaming, "here I am". Happy Decorating!

Agree that it is very stark. Like the suggestion of hanging a container of some type with greenery spilling out of it to soften the hard lines of the window, and provide some needed colour.

    use an accent paint color.
