How do I turn a boring fireplace into rock?

Hi Rosemarie, if its sheetrock you can screw cement board over it and then put the rock on that. Or, if its brick you could go right over the brick with any rock you like. They sell inexpensive "rock" now that looks good but it thin and easier to work with.
