When to dig up daffodil bulbs? I have a 4'x8' bulb garden that is Fill with daffodil bulbs & some other tubers (that I don't want in there), so how do I go about this??

  • Dig them up and relocate. I would prepare the new bulb bed(s) first so they are out of ground for the least amount of time as possible.

    • 67 is far from being old, you can do this! Just work in sections over a period of time. Or if you are on Nextdoor.com, hop on and hire a high school or college kid to come help you for a nominal fee. Have any family, friends or neighbors willing to come help out for an afternoon or two?

You can dig up as long as ground is not frozen. If you want to keep them and want to bloom just move. If not get off dirt place in brown paper and keep in a cool place.

You're still young! Do you have a grandchild or a friend's grandchild you can get to help? Since it's not too big of job, could probably get it done for 20 bucks.

just use pointed shovel and step on it pop them out of ground. Do it while the are dormant, if you can dig the cold ground anytime is good. What will you do with them? Give them away or sell. Healthy bulbs are expensive don't throw them away donate to church, rec center, animal shelter etc. for them to use or sell.
