How can I easily seal my basement?
I need to keep water out of my basement. It was finished in the '50's with knotty pine paneling on the walls and linoleum tile on the floor. I use the room as my workshop, but don't want to spend too much. I also don't want to lose anymore furniture, as i just have. We have lived here for nearly 25 years and this is the first time we have had water.

You need a waterproofing contractor to access the problem and a course of action. You may need the outside walls waterproofed, French drain installed either outside or inside.
Sounds like a grading issue on the exterior of your home. Check your gutters and down spouts. You might need some French drains installed and regrade the area around your home to flow away from the structure but not onto neighboring property.
