How to make a damaged wood floor look good without refinishing it?

We rented an apartment for our college student, and the landlord did not refinish the hard wood floors. It's a shame, because they could be stunning. I'd do it myself since I'm retired, but we don't have time before they need to move in and start school. Is there anything we can do to make it look better quickly without sanding?

Yes ! Get a product called quick shine , made by a company called Halloway House .

You can find it almost anywhere , my supermarket carries it . Make sure it says for wood floors , they make it in several versions . This product is used on a clean , dry floor , you squirt it on and spread it over the floor . This is not like mop and glow , goes on the same way , but it's more of a sealer/protector. You can use up to seven coats, that would give you floors like a bowling alley. I use it once a year on my wood floors , using 2 coats. My floors look great , and they are over 60 years old !

This held up with 3 kids and pets running around ! Good luck !

Hi Patra, I can't find it now but I know of a blogger who used liquid sand paper on her floors before spot staining them and then putting a high quality clear coat on them. She did it in one day with that night for dry time.

This is something that the landlord should do. If he gives you permission get it in writing or it can come back to haunt you. You can try using Bona for hardwood floors.
