You can also use a paste of baking soda and water and use it with a Mr. Clean Magic eraser (sometimes the eraser works find on its own), but check in a corner first to be sure it doesnt scratch. Also, you can use a straight edge razor blade with a safety end to gently scrape the burned on gunk off. Used this all the time!

Hi Colleen. I've found this to work great...soaking a small dish or hand towel in boiling water, gently wring out, then lay over the stubborn stains, let sit overnight. Remove the towel in the morning, Wipe away the gunk and moisture with a soft sponge or rag with a small amount of dish soap. The gunk is gone! No scrubbing!😀

I use soft scrub with NO bleach. Pour little on cooktop stain. Take a paper towel or rag and smear soft scrub over top of cooktop being sure to cover stained area. Wait 15-20 minutes. Take paper towel or rag and clean up dried soft scrub. Then take damp rag or paper towel and finish cleaning cooktop. Dry. You can also purchase a special type of cleaning pad to use in place of paper towel and rag. They do not scratch surface. Straight razor blade can also scrape off burnt food. Be

careful not to cut your ceramic, just scrape off food.

There is also a product on the market to clean this gunk. Pour a bit of the liquid on the area, let sit for a minute or so, then with a straight edge razor blade, scrape off the area in question, everything should come off. The product is sold in big box stores like Home Depot, Superstore.

My cooktop came packed with a little bottle of Cerama Bryte. It works very well. My cooktop is an induction cooktop so nothing really gets burnt on but I do get crusty spots if something boils over or I drip food and don't wipe it immediately.

Cerama Bryte is a terrific product. Use a razor blade scraper (like the ones for removing paint from windows) to scrape off the worst of a stain--if it's very burned-on, apply Cerama Bryte first, leave it a while, then scrape or scrub off. Don't use any harsh abrasive sponges--use only a plastic scrubber. It might take a few applications to get the spot clean. If you can avoid using that burner for a while, keep repeat cleaning until spot is gone. I use a small amount of Cerama Bryte every night after cooking is done, so nothing can set.

If you spill anything acidic, especially tomato sauce, clean it up as soon as the stove top is cool. It can etch the glass if left too long. Following this method has kept the stove top pristine for years.
