It depends on what you mean by restore. Is your siding vinyl or aluminum? We power wash our vinyl every couple years and really does a nice job cleaning it. But yo do want to be careful not to intentionally direct the spray up underneath the pieces of siding. Not good to get it too wet underneath and it can also dislodge pieces if spray is too strong. If siding is older, aluminum and or painted, the power of the sprayer can peel off paint, or pitt the aluminum siding. Just follow directions on your sprayer as to the setting for siding, and as long as it's vinyl, you should be ok. But, this is to clean...not sure what you're looking to achieve by restoring. Maybe you can explain this part more...
Be very careful!! A power washer is very powerful and can easily wreck your siding. It can also force water up and behind the siding and leak into your home. Washing siding can be done successfully with a power washer, but you must use it with extreme care.

Are you trying to remove algae, artillery fungus, or airborne dust and dirt?
You can apply Wet n' Forget using a Garden Sprayer (no power washers), liberally to siding on an overcast day. It will take many months, but does work to restore siding from algae stains, even on your roof shingles.
The artillery fungus will result from mulch being placed within 10 feet of your house. It's best to scrub it using a thick microfiber cloth or sponge dipped into hot water mixed with Lemon Dish liquid. Do NOT use one with grease cutters, as siding manufacturers report damage to siding, over time.
Airborne dust and dirt should be removed with a garden hose and siding cleaner.
Power washing can be used to "clean" the siding, but it's not going to restore anything. Work from the top down and be sure not to have the washer forcing water into the drip holes at the bottom of each layer of siding if there are ones, or you'll end up with the possibility of mold beneath the siding. You might first try cleaning the siding with a soft brush with an extender on it and use hot soapy water and then rinse well. It may take longer but if you do it in sections it might be best for the life of your home. It really does depend on the type of siding you have on your home.
