How can I make a stand alone closet for my vacuum and shelves?

In my tiny apartment I have the vacuum in the corner of my bedroom.
I also need a some shelves on the side to put some baskets with items to store.
It can't be over 36 in. wide, needs to be able to hid all tastefully.

How about an armoire? I have seen different sizes.
How about going to a big box store and buying unfinished kitchen cabinets? Get the lower one and paint or stain. For shelves, look to see if they have open shelving to match.
