How do I disguise flaws on tabletop?

Recently, I bought a beautiful old Duncan Phyffe dining table and chairs. It had been professionally refinished several years ago. The owner had it in her garage with some of the chairs atop the table. Thanks to the tremendous amount of rain, when I got it home, the felt on bottom of the chair legs had left circular dull spots on the finish that feel rougher than the rest of the tabletop and show up fairly noticeably. I am an older lady and cannot do any sort of refinishing myself. Will any sort of wax help? Any suggestions? I hate to cover it with a cloth.
