How do I childproof my two end tables?

I have 2 end tables that my grand kids won’t stay out from under. It’s an open bottom with slots my grand babies get their feet stuck in them

I think the simplest fix is to cut and stain a piece of plywood to fit over the slats. You could remove it later when the babies are a bit bigger and don't climb in there all the time. Sweet memories!

  • Have a piece of wood or Plexiglas cut to fit inside. If you choose wood, you can stain or paint to match.

I just got a puppy who seems to think that's a good place to sleep! I was able to find some bins to put in that space to keep him out and it gave me some extra storage!

Send the grand babies home until they learn to behave.

      Twasnt.

My sister's oldest child was very stubborn and wouldn't take no for an answer. Like most new parents, her furniture and home were not conducive to life with children. She eventually got tired of arguing and let him touch things that we're harmful, like cacti, mouse traps, and hot curling irons. Under strict supervision of course.

He finally learned that when Mom says no she means no

If they can't get hurt, take things off top when you know they are coming and let them have fun. My grandchildren came they loved to play under coffee table, loved watching them, sometimes even fell asleep. Photo opt for smiles years later☺☺

Put a large object there so they cant crawl into the space. Ie.. speakers, baskets, books.

Cover the bottom with something so that their feet won't get stuck, drape a blanket over the top of the table, and they have a "house" to hide in. It will keep them entertained for quite a while. Pretty soon they'll outgrow it and all will be well. (Or you can go to the dining table and do the same for larger children. It makes a good place for them to play and you can keep an eye on them if the table is near the kitchen or wherever you're working or sitting.

Kids love to crawl into little spaces....can you drape a blanket over the padding so that it covers the little places in which their feet get caught? I always kept my end tables and coffee table empty....so many little cars "driven" around the top and on the bottom shelf. As mentioned, the little ones grow up so fast so won't last long.
