how do I put pictures up on a texture wall without using nails?
Meg,
If the ends are covered by trim, then you can certainly face nail them. The nails you use in between the ends can be face nailed. Be sure to use hot dipped galvanized, not electro-plated nails. Stainless steel are even better, but more expensive. Face nailing will give you a more rustic look. If you do that then you might want to consider using a ring shank nail. The other option is to hide the nails in between the ends by blind nailing through the tongue side into a stud. Here's a good tutorial.

Do you mean shiplap
One generally nails in the tongue so that the nails are hidden.
