How do you remove the bark from a tree trunk slab?

  • It's easier if the bark has a chance to dry out. Then use a chisel and hammer.

Thanks! I have been using a chisel/hammer.........after it has sat over a year. My slab is almost a foot thick.....almost a yard across, so lots of work!!!!

    A chisel will remove it.

A straight draw shave it but you want but since it's not a tool most people have try a drill with a brush on it (but know that it's still alot of work). My method is let it sit a year and it will losen and perhaps fall off on it's own lol.

Thanks! It has sat for over a year. I have used a chisel/hammer for hours. Barely a change. The slab is almost a yard wide.....10-12 inches thick!
