How can I hide a lamp cord under a sofa?

Cord covers. Paintable and sold everywhere. You are SO lucky to have in floor outlets! I envy you! If I ever get to build my own house, I am going to have them!!! 🌞

You could cover it with a thick pile area rug that has a pliable and flexible backing. It would need to be fluffy enough to disguise the lump created by the floor outlet cover... maybe a flokati or shearling style.

Or place a decorative throw strategically and artfully draped over the sofa.

Shift the couch over and make room for a short legged side table that hides the cord and outlet.

Or be thankful for the freedom floor plugs give you to design your room.

I angsted about the perfect placement of floor outlets in my greatroom and still got it wrong. A bun foot sofa is in exactly the right position to hide one plug but a high legged armchair missed the mark on the other one..... Sigh....it's still worth it to have table lamps in the middle of the room.

Ohh, interesting..... the thought would be to attach/tape/adhere the cord to the dust liner. Is the liner stitched on or tacked/velcroed? If the later you could release the edge and push extra cord inside.

You could create a pocket by attaching a piece of fabric to the lining using velcro or a very lightweight thread. The idea being that if the cord is yanked the pocket would give way from the lining.

Velcro tape might work... Also command makes removable Velcro hanging strips, but I don't know if they work on material.

Leave it be. If you cant see it, then dont bother. You dont want to run the risk of a fire.

You can use a wire/zip tie to secure it to a leg. Bring the surplus cord out from under the sofa and plop it in a basket then you can lay a magazine over it. If you want to secure the cord to the center of the sofa you could use a tea cup hook screwed into the frame then just lay the cord in the hook. As long as you are not drawing a lot of power, the cord should not get warm.

Turn your sofa over and use quilting thread to whip stitch the cord to the sofa fabric.Just loop the thread around (not into) the cord, through the fabric, and repeat. If you ever want to remove it all you have to do is snip the threads. The small needle holes will not damage your fabric. Use a circular upholstery needle which will go into the sofa bottom and circle back out. Use a double strand of thread (one piece knotted together to form a double strand.) Since the plug will be down on the floor, only the cord will be touching the sofa so you should have no worries about safety.
