How do I begin to make this wall my feature wall?

I have the materials to begin, but, don’t know where to start! I’d also like to change the fan to a nice chandelier, trimmed out with the same material. How do I finish off the look so there are no rough edges? Do I take the molding down first and re-apply when done?!?! Each plank is 1/4 inch thick and in various lengths. I will also be painting this room in a tan/ grey color with pure white, high gloss finish. I can envision it finished, I just cannot envision where to begin😭😭PLEASE help!!!!!!! I am such a fan of Hometalk.com, I read ever morning with my coffee before I get out of bed😂💙🤣
I am so sorry, I have no idea what you are asking. Trim, rough edges, where on what the chandelier? Ceiling? Is there a picture,of what you are trying to do? I've read it 3 x. Help
Me too Denise, me too! First clear and / or cover everything you can't move. Then, yes, remove all exist in trim or moldings. Here is what i do. I paint my trim and moldings first so they can be dry sooner. Then paint the room. Then check on your trim. See if it needs another coat. Let everything dry thoroughly. While everything is drying, work on your chandelier project and get that installed. When trim is dry, install and do any touch up work. Put things back in place. You are good to go. 🌞
I am also confused as to what you're talking about. Some more info as to your materials and what exactly you want to do. And why take down your ceiling fan? I'd die without mine. But there are decorative ones that look like a chandelier.

Just a personal preference, but I would want more light. A dark/dim room is depressing to me. We had floor to ceiling windows in every room when we built. Shades can be used to keep unwanted eyes from peering in. Of course I am in the woods on a bluff with closest neighbor 6/10 mile away. only ones to see in are birds and wildlife. the length of the house faces south so we get great passive solar assist for heating. In the city, would still opt for light with shades, then light color on walls. A nice colorful painting above bed or if you are handy with paint could paint mural above the bed.
Put lap boards on or use fabric and starch it to wall. Mother use to use burlap & then paint it for a textured wall look.
