Hello, What kind of tub is it? Cast iron, steel or fiberglass? The type of tub would dictate the recommended cleanser. Because fiberglass can be easily scratched, baking soda seems to be the less offensive of all the mild detergents listed in the resource below.
“For stubborn areas, such as bathtub rings, you can make a paste out of baking soda and a little water. Wet down the tub’s surface and gently rub the paste onto it with a sponge, soft nylon brush, or cloth.”

Hello. Cindy here. I use Scrubbing Bubbles. But it has to be the one with the blue lid. The trick to using it, is to spray it on and walk away. Give it 15 or 20 minutes to do it's thing. Then wipe it up with a clean damp cloth. Works great.
Hi there,
I'm Linda. I use baking soda and vinegar. First mix baking soda with water to create a soft paste. Put that on an sponge and rub it on the surface of the tub. Then spray the whole tub with vinegar and water (50.50 mix) and a few drops of Dawn. Let that sit a while to do it's work, then rinse everything off and polish dry if you want it to shine. I hope that helps. Wishing you the best.
