I use goo be gone. Hope you have it where you are.
Remove what you can. Pull it off. If its old adhesive will remain. Use Goo Gone or WD40 to remove the adhesive residue.
To get the tape off wooden furniture,use your hairdryer to heat it up so it can peel off.
