Inexpensive options to finish basement ceiling. Exposed by wood/wires. I would like to insulate and install the ceiling cover?

Hi there, I'm in the same boat as you when it comes to my basement ceiling. To code you need to be able to still access those wires so, after you insulate, a drop ceiling is probably your best option.

There are ceiling systems that allow the tiles to be installed higher than a dropped ceiling to allow for more headroom. They line up with the bottom of the rafters and have a nice look to them. Fiberglass can be installed with each panel for insulation. Another option is to spray paint the over the wood and wires (protect the connections) but does not add insulation unless that has been invented. Do some googling on the internet and more options will pop up.

I want the panels to align with the end of the wood currently. Is this possible?
