How do I repair drywall that has been damaged by wallpaper removal? I tried using a product called Gards by Zinzer to seal the exposed paper, but when I sparkled, the paper rippled! What to do?

Zinseer Gardz is a sealer used like primer. Being water based the moisture rippled the paper. Lightly sand the rippled paper only or peel it off. Use no shrink drywall patching compound. Just put enough to fill the joints and gouges. Let it dry overnight. Next day go over the patch with a damp sponge to smooth it out. Then use the Zinseer Gardz and paint.

I covered mine up with a painting combining a simple picture (since I am not an artist) and some stencils. I tried to do a faux bondo to create a Italian plaster effect. Mine didnt turn out that well so I sanded it down to start over. However, my friend did it and it was awesome.
