Sorry but I don't follow your line of thinking.
Since the part of the clock that previously held the face is no longer working, do you want to remove it, and install a mirror instead, using the rest of the clock as a sort of frame?
Although it sounds like a neat idea, I would say that the cost of purchasing a mirror, then getting it custom cut to fit this space, plus the materials to anchor it in properly, would make this project no longer cost effective.
